Happy New Year!

Well, here it is, the first day of the new year. And I am facing this year with a great sense of hope. Hope that things will be changing for all of us. Hope that our economy will recover and people will have less to worry about. Hope that I can overcome my depression ALL the way. I am doing so much better, but there is plenty of room for improvement. Hope that our new president will prove to be what this country needs. God bless you President Obama, you are going to need every bit of help you can get!

Christmas went so much better than I could even have hoped for. I enjoyed my family so very much. The grandchildren were adorable and loved their presents. It was wonderful to have everyone home on Christmas Day! Mom and I have everything ready for dinner and my kids helped with the cleanup. We had ham, homemade scalloped potatoes, green beans, a sweet potato casserole that my DIL brought (yummy!), a tossed salad DD brought, and a loaf of pumpkin bread made by my other DIL's mom. DIL #1 also brought along a ton of her tasty Christmas cookies. I bet I gained 5 lbs.

Last night I had a quiet evening with DH and then alone after he went to bed at
10:00. Mom went even earlier, so I saw the new year in myself. It was fun watching the party program that featured Dick Clark. What a guy! He is doing so well after his stroke and it was wonderful to see him there!

Didn't get much done today, but I did make up a goal list for myself. Hey, it's all about little steps, right?

Hope you all have a happy and healthy new year!

Christmas was great this year (always is)! I'm glad you enjoyed Professor Layton, although I'm amazed you burnt through it so fast - Dom and I have been working through that one on and off for months. Glad to hear that you're enjoying Animal Crossing, though - I hope Tom Nook doesn't give you too much grief over the mortgage.

Love,
