New Business!

Hi, everyone! I know it has been a long time since I posted, but I do have a bit of news to share.

Two of my favorite hobbies are stamping and scrapbooking. Once upon a time I was a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, but I had to give it up as I was working full time and wasn't able to devote the time needed. Well, now I am retired and I have oodles of time. So I am once again a Stampin' Up! demonstrator! I have a new stamping blog and the address is: www.inkorswim-ginny.blogspot.com. Come and check it out. I will be posting projects, Stampin' Up! specials and more.

Creating Again!

So, I have been making cards again. Not great cards, but making them anyway. Attached are a couple of photos. For everyone's information, all supplies are Stampin Up!

Things continue to get better and better. Mom is feeling better, I am feeling wonderful! My car has been under the weather but has now been fixed; so I am all set to babysit in Chicago this weekend. Woohoo!

I am going to post my cards here and then I am done for tonight.

I Finally Made a Card!

I am so excited! The card posted here is the best I have ever done without copying someone else. All products are Stampin' Up except the ribbon which is from Michael's. Let me know what you think, okay? The new craft room has had a wonderful effect on me! I am also posting a photo of the fabrics to be used in the craft room for various items; a sewing machine cover, a sewing machine apron, a cushion cover and pillow cover for the chair. Can't wait to sew!!

Tomorrow my two older granddaughters come for their weekly summer visit. I am looking forward to this so much. There are things to do, places to go and people to see. And it is all more fun when the girls are here. The list of possiblities are endless; the zoo, shopping, an amusement park, Circus World Museum in Baraboo, Chuckee Cheese, going out for tea at a shop, making cookies, etc. We even have craft to do when they get bored. And food, OMG, I spent a fortune at the grocery store today. But I really wanted to have food on hand that they enjoy.

Well, I had better go. I need to be well rested when the darlings arrive. I love them SO much!

Where Am I?

I'm still here, just busier than I was when I started this blog.

I had a couple of invasive tests in the last week and I am sick of them. Don't think they'll find anything, but they couldn't complete the first one so I had to have a different one only 7 days later. I will stop with saying both involved nasty preps and awful procedures. Glad that is over with.

Update on the craftroom! It is nearly finished. Well, all the work is done and I am slowly moving back the things I am going to keep. I made my first project tonight in the revamped room; a card of thanks to my loving DH for all the work he has done to get the room done. It is amazing to have a place for everything and only have the things you will use. I was actually able to leave the room in the same condition as when I went in there. I like it!!!!!!!!

We had a terrific July 4th with our entire family, minus only our DSIL who had to work. The day was perfect, the food was tasty although basic, cookout fare. We had hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, pasta salad, chips, etc. At the end of the day my youngest DS set off the fireworks that he and DD each had brought. Pretty impressive for a private celebration!

At the beginning of the post are a couple of photos from the 5th and of the craft room makeover.

Inauguration Day

We have a new president! I am feeling very hopeful that President Obama can accomplish his campaign promises. Good luck, Mr. President!

Things are still going pretty good. I tried to work in the craft room today, but it is just so overwhelming! I know what I want to do, really, I can even see it in my mind. But, accomplishing it is another story. Why am I so unable to do something so simple? My therapist keeps telling me not to beat myself up over this sort of thing, but it's really hard not to. I feel like I must have been born without the cleaning and organization gene.

Last night I drove about 25 miles to my friend Jessica's for stamp club. I almost didn't go because it had been snowing off and on all day. The roads were a tiny bit slick but not the whole way and it was much better coming home. I enjoy stamp club so much. I get to see people who enjoy stamping as much as I do, we make pretty cards and projects, and I get OUT of the house. Tomorrow I will be going out to my appointment with the therapist. I look forward to that, also. She helps me sort through my thoughts.

DD and the two little ones will be here tomorrow. I told DH to get ready! The little ones will run his socks off. Eek! That means I have to babysit on Thursday while DD gets her hair done. I hope I am ready!

Okay, I admit it, I am addicted to reality TV. My favorites are John and Kate Plus Eight, Big People Little World, and the Duggars on TLC. On Style Network I love Clean House (go figure). I think I enjoy seeing that other people are clutters too.

That's enough for tonight.

Happy Holidays!

Hey, I guess I was in the land of the missing for a while. I can't believe it has been almost two weeks since I last posted. Things got pretty bad for a while, but I really think things are on the upswing for good now.

I have been seeing a therapist for a while and we are making progress...hallelujah! We have started setting goals for me and I actually accomplished one today. I have cleared a spot in my craft room so I can stamp again. I feel really good about it because I truly love stamping! Lots of "I's" in these sentences. Sorry. There is no shame in seeking help. That's a good thing, thank God! My therapist is such a doll. She has helped me so much to look less at what I am not and more at what I am. Anyway...!

My grandson's baptism was a very special time. I had a lot of fun at my DD and SIL's. It was really good to see his folks as it had been a while. The night before the baptism was spent at DS the elder's home. My mom and I babysat the two older GB's. What a blast! Mom went to bed early as she had just arrived that day from baby sister's in Texas. The girls and I watched "Barbie" in "A Christmas Carol". Cute! Then we watched the first "Home Alone" movie. Well, the oldest and did. My younger granddaughter fell asleep shortly after the movie started. I was so thrilled as the oldest snuggled all evening with me. Talk about Grandma heaven!

Well, thanks for listening. I probably won't post again until next week. I think I will spend the weekend doing laundry, (is that me talking?) and stamping a few things. All of the children and grandchildren will be here Christmas afternoon and I am so looking forward to it. That means there is lots to do though.

Finally!

I finally got some things done around here. Woohoo! DD and her two little ones went home on Tuesday morning. I am enjoying the quiet but I miss them so much! The last couple of days have been spent going through my clothes and getting rid of what I don't ever wear. It has been really hard to get rid of some things; especially those that still have the price tags on them. Hey, I never said I have the greatest taste, did I?

Monday night I went to a Stampin' Up meeting at my demonstrator's home. The meeting was for her monthly stamp club which I joined this summer. There are ten members and we meet once a month for 10 months. Each person picked a month to be the hostess, (I picked June). When you join you agree to spend a minimum of $20 so there is a guarantee of a $200 order. The person who chose the particular month gets all the hostess benefits. We also made three projects. It is a fun way to spend a couple of hours. I love stamping!

For some reason I am really tired all of a sudden and I feel sleepy. Gonna stop for tonight.
