Progress!

It has been 5 days since I cried!!! I know some people would say "big deal", but for me it is a milestone. This is the first time I have gone more than 2 days without several major episodes in a day. It gives me such hope that maybe things have taken another jump upward and that I will feel like "myself" soon. I am so thankful for my psychiatrist and my therapist. They have been so supportive and helped me get this far; and it IS a long way that I have come!

DD and the little ones have been here for two days. It is easy to see why she is always so tired because they are ACTIVE! Danny, who will be two on May 28th, is a character. When you tell him "NO" he just goes faster to do whatever it is you don't want him to do. His big sister, Ashley (who will be three on May 1st), alternates between being so charming and totally whiny. My dear friend came over for lunch yesterday while I was babysitting the two of them. Ashley really took to Alice and sat on her lap almost the entire time she was here. I have to admit feeling just a little jealous as she doesn't sit on my lap as much as she used to.

I am so naughty! I went to the store today and stocked up on all my favorite ice creams. Hey, when it is buy one, get one free how can I turn it down? My favorite brand is Edy's (here and Dreyer's in other places). I love the Slow Churned versions; especially French Silk. Their Yogurt Blends are also delicious; try the Caramel Praline one, it is so yummy!

There may be an explaination as to why I have felt so bad physically lately. I think I am having a flare-up of my fibromyalgia; which would explain why my muscles are aching and my legs get so tired when I go up the stairs or walk too fast. So, I know that this will pass in a little why. I CAN do this and I WILL!

We had so much fun last night. DS #2, DIL, and DS's best friend were here last night for supper. DD made homemade Chicago style pizza and it was yummy. Then we sat and talked for hours. What a wonderful way to spend the evening. DS's friend is such a funny guy. You never know what he is going to say next. DS said I even got in one really good zinger on him. That made me feel so proud because I usually come out on the short end when it comes to zingers; I get more than I give, always. But it is all in good fun and I love when we all get together. Sometimes we play card games. DS's friend has taught us some doozies; my favorite being Mao. It is a wild game where the winner of each hand gets to add a rule to the basic ones. One of the basic rules is no talking during play unless you are giving a rule or calling someone who has broken a rule. That can be so funny when you have someone who can't play card without talking. My DH's brother was playing with us a Christmas party several years ago. Everytime he would talk, DS's friend would say "talking" and give him another card. Brother would start protesting whereupon he would get another "talking" and another card. Well, after about 10 cards I thought he was going to have a heart attack because he just didn't understand why he kept getting them. It really was funny...but I guess you had to be there! LOL.

Okay, gonna go take my meds and go to bed. The little ones get up early and DD wants to get on the road fairly early tomorrow. She has a 150 mile drive and the earlier she leaves the less traffic there is going into Chicago.

Salmon

Weird title, hunh? Let me explain...I hate salmon, or so I thought. Sunday we were invited to DS #2's home for dinner with DIL's parents. My son is an amazing cook, but I wasn't very excited when I heard that our entree was salmon. But, you know what, I tried it and it was pretty good!! So now I know that I can eat salmon and it isn't too bad!! :)

While we were visiting we played Wii and it was fun! I haven't laughed so hard in such a long time. We really enjoy DIL's parents and, of course, spending time with DS and DIL.

Last night, I went through a couple of large baskets of craft "stuff" that have been stored in a closet for years. I felt pretty good as I got it weeded down by over half. When spring comes I am going to have one heck of a craft "stuff" yard sale. My husband's brother lives in town on a great corner and has agreed to let me have my sale there. I used his yard once before and it was amazing. Now I just have to finish going through two closets and my "crap" room before spring gets here fully.

My therapist and I worked tonight on my feelings about my "stuff". I kind of had a break through and I realized that all that "stuff" weighs me down and keeps me from doing the things I want and love to do. Now I just have to take this revelation and run with it. I CAN do this, I know I can! I am going to take before and after photos and maybe, just maybe, I will post them. But I have to get it done first! LOL

Misery!

Heaven help me! DH gave me his cold and I am miserable. It is a full blown, sniffling, sneezing, coughing, blowing mess! I haven't had one of these for a while, (thank God). DH has caught another little bug, so we stayed home today instead of going to DS the younger's in-laws for Super Bowl fun.

So, here we sit, all alone, sneezing together and moaning over all of the Cardinal's mistakes. I would really love to see them win, but I have to be realistic; oh, but wouldn't it be something to see them take down the mighty Steelers? Okay, I am really softie a heart and I always root for the underdog, well, unless my favorite team is the favorite. Go Pack! LOL.

I may have to leave the house tomorrow for more tissues, LOL! I have gone through almost an entire box! It would be good to get out, but I don't want to spread the bug either. I wonder if those lotion tissues really are nicer to your nose? Mine is sore from all the blowing.

Woohoo! Arizona just scored a TD!!!!! That puts them within 6 of the Steelers! Do ya think, just maybe, they can pull it off? Come on Cardinals!!!

Sorry, I got just a little carried away, (tee hee). I do love the Superbowl commercials. There are some pretty good ones, especially Budweiser's. The horses are just too cute! The Pepsi commercial imitating McGuyver stinks, though.

Tonight really is ramblings, isn't it? I have spent a lot of time on my laptop the last couple of days just surfing stamping sites. In case I haven't mentioned it, my favorite is splitcoaststampers.com. For some reason the link didn't activate, sorry. They have some wonderful ideas, techniques, and groups. II belong to a couple of their groups and they really brighten my day! (Bless me! Twice!) There is a support group for people with clinical depression and it has been a blessing. The poster there understand what I have been going through and have great suggestions.

Okay, gonna stop now and take care of my poor nose. God Bless, y'all!

Inauguration Day

We have a new president! I am feeling very hopeful that President Obama can accomplish his campaign promises. Good luck, Mr. President!

Things are still going pretty good. I tried to work in the craft room today, but it is just so overwhelming! I know what I want to do, really, I can even see it in my mind. But, accomplishing it is another story. Why am I so unable to do something so simple? My therapist keeps telling me not to beat myself up over this sort of thing, but it's really hard not to. I feel like I must have been born without the cleaning and organization gene.

Last night I drove about 25 miles to my friend Jessica's for stamp club. I almost didn't go because it had been snowing off and on all day. The roads were a tiny bit slick but not the whole way and it was much better coming home. I enjoy stamp club so much. I get to see people who enjoy stamping as much as I do, we make pretty cards and projects, and I get OUT of the house. Tomorrow I will be going out to my appointment with the therapist. I look forward to that, also. She helps me sort through my thoughts.

DD and the two little ones will be here tomorrow. I told DH to get ready! The little ones will run his socks off. Eek! That means I have to babysit on Thursday while DD gets her hair done. I hope I am ready!

Okay, I admit it, I am addicted to reality TV. My favorites are John and Kate Plus Eight, Big People Little World, and the Duggars on TLC. On Style Network I love Clean House (go figure). I think I enjoy seeing that other people are clutters too.

That's enough for tonight.

What is the date?

You know, it has gotten to where I remember the day of the week, today is Saturday, but I cannot remember the date. Oh, DH says it is the 17th. Wow, time flies!

Well, the medication change has begun. I hope it works out as I am really tired of the involuntary movements. The complete changeover will take about three weeks, so...we'll see!

Spent a couple of days at DD's home. That was fun! The little ones sure do wear me out though! Ashley wanted to "run, Grandma!" so we ran, around the dining room table, about 6 times. And then Grandma was pooped! So, I watched she and her little brother run around and around. Whew! Made me even more tired just watching!

My mom has gone back down to my little sister's for a few months this time. The house will seem empty without her. But DH and I are enjoying our alone time. This is his weekend off and we spent part of the afternoon and evening having a movie date. We had it here at home, but that's okay. He offered to take me out, but it has been snowing off and on all day and it's cold so I suggested watching a few of the movies we have that haven't been watched yet. We watched Wall-E and Eregon. I loved them both and so did he. We even had popcorn! Then DH grilled a steak for supper, (he really is being a sweetie lately). Now we are sitting here stuffed but happy and watching Independence Day.

I am still working on my side of the bedroom; a little at a time and the same for the craft room. I WILL get done eventually, I have committed to it this time.

Well, gonna go for now! Take care all and God Bless!

One Day at a Time

And I am taking it one day at a time. The increased meds are helping. I am more interesting things again and I can actually carry on a conversation. I still don't feel like doing much around the house, but I did do dishes last night. Woohoo!

Last Saturday we went down to DS the elder's for GB #2's birthday. We then spent the night with DD and her family at the "new" house. I like it! Some of the rooms are small but it has a lot of potential. The house felt very warm and welcoming. I can't wait to see what they eventually do with it.

Yesterday, I went to my friends for a stamping session. It was nice to get out of the house. I am accumulating a nice collection of handmade cards. Monday night I am going to a class for making homemade gifts. That will help with a few people anyway.

I am setting new goals for myself. My first goal was to get back on my med schedule and I met that goal. Next goal was to get dressed each day. I have been pretty good, just not today. My new goal is to get one thing done each day; like empty a box for example. Still working on that one.
